Alien Technology has announced the installation of an RFID-enabled tracking solution which will trace millions of garments per year throughout the supply chain, from manufacturing plant to the retail sales floor. The solution was commissioned by Eren Holdings, a conglomerate which both manufactures clothes for major designer brands and operates stores across Turkey.

     Each year, Eren Holdings manufactures around two million high-end garments for labels including Lacoste, Burberry, Calvin Klein, Coach and Blank, and distributes the clothes in Russia and Turkey. The company also has 88 retail stores in Turkey. The company chose an RFID tracking solution to enhance its supply chain traceability process and reduce the cost of inventory control and labor.

     Alien teamed with its frequent business partner in Eastern Europe, STS Technology, to create the end-to-end solution for the garment company. The solution uses Alien’s tags and other hardware along with an Oracle-based software system. According to an Alien spokesperson, the Eren Holdings solution is Alien’s fifth major, multi-million tag garment tracking solution installation in Europe.
